Cora Adds 3 to Staff

Less than 24 hours after capturing a World Series title with the Houston Astros, new Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora got down to business.

On Thursday, the Red Sox announced the hirings of Ron Roenicke, Carlos Febles and Tom Goodwin have been named to the staff.

Roenicke has been hired to serve as the bench. The 61-year old had been working as the third base coach for the Los Angeles Angels for the last two years. Prior to that, he managed the Milwaukee Brewers from 2011-15, and led them to a .508 winning percentage in that span while bringing them to the National League Championship Series in his first season.

Tom Goodwin has been named as the new first base coach, outfield instructor and baserunning instruction coordinator. Goodwin worked as the first base coach for the New York Mets for the past six season.

Carlos Febles will serve as the new Red Sox third base coach and infield instructor. Feebles has been managing and coaching for minor league affiliates since 2007 and recently wrapped up his first season as the Portland SeaDogs manager (AA).

One, and the only holdover from the preview staff will be in the bullpen Dana LeVangie. will continue to serve as bullpen coach, catching coordinator and assist in advanced scouting.
