Greg Robinson, currently an offensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns but soon to be a free agent, and former NFL player Quan Bray were arrested after Border Patrol found 156.9 pounds of marijuana in the back of the rented 2020 Chevy Tahoe the two and another passenger were traveling in, according to several reports.

The former Auburn teammates are facing up to 20 years in prison if convicted on charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to sell. In addition to a large amount of marijuana seized, authorities also seized numerous glass jars, packaging equipment, and $3,100 in cash.

The criminal complaint filed on Wednesday by the Drug Enforcement Administration stated that Robison, Bray and an unidentified passenger were traveling from Los Angeles to Louisiana and were stopped near Sierra Blanca, Tex., following an alert from a Border Patrol Agent whose canine picked up on the scent of marijuana as they passed them on Interstate 10. When the patrol stopped and searched the vehicle, they found duffle bags filled with marijuana and the other contraband.

The third person in the vehicle was not charged and stated that the NFL players had tried to get him to take responsibility for the drugs found, but the passenger insisted he didn’t know they were in the car and he would have not gone along for the ride had he known.  There are also text messages the passenger produced in order to prove his claims of innocence.

Robinson and Bray were booked into the El Paso County Detention Center and also denied bond pending an initial appearance before a U.S. magistrate judge.
