Ciancio: Enough of Antonio Brown

Antonio Brown has given the National Football League (NFL) something it does not need at this point, even more controversy.

Brown is being a complete diva. Running around yelling, ‘I’m free’ after being released from a contract, illegally recording a phone call with Jon Gruden, arguing what helmet he’s allowed to have on and more all making him look immature and ungrateful. It makes it hard to root for the guy.

Holdouts are not the worst thing in the game, but being a diva about it makes the whole thing annoying to watch unfold.

Actions like Brown’s make it so when you watch NFL Network or ESPN, you get very little NFL coverage on other topics. Divas are yet another reason fans sometimes get fed up with the NFL and look for alternatives.

Then we have Brown’s mental health. I honestly fear for the man if he doesn’t get help. Some of the things he’s doing do not make any sense or are. I don’t see why a sane human would turn down so much money, spend frivolously and act like a child.

A fear is that two years into retirement he’s broke and homeless or he commits suicide. One should hope Brown gets the help he needs, for his sake, those who know him and for the sport as a whole.
