Christmas Day Football DFS: Week 16

This year there will be two games on the Christmas Day schedule. To kick things off, the Green Bay Packers will be hosting the Cleveland Browns followed by the Arizona Cardinals hosting the Indianapolis Colts. These games are very important with all four teams needing either a win to help make the playoffs or to get a better seed in the playoffs. Let’s take a look at the top DFS players in these two matchups.

Quarterback

Kyler Murray (DK 7,200 | FD 8,700)

Murray and the entire Cardinals offense have struggled the last two weeks. With the playoffs coming up soon, the Cardinals need to get the offense figured out over these next three games especially in the red zone. The good news for Murray is even though he’s struggled his fantasy numbers haven’t been terrible. He still averaged 17 fantasy points the last two games despite only throwing one touchdown. Murray should have himself a nice bounce-back game and put up some fantasy points in this game.

Running Back

Jonathan Taylor (DK 8,300 | FD 10,500)

The MVP talk has picked up and Taylor will do even more to solidify that this week. Is there even an explanation needed for why you should lock him into all of your lineups? Merry Christmas, here’s your free square.

Wide Receivers

Michael Pittman (DK 5,000 | FD 6,400)

Pittman has taken the next step this season and has emerged as the Colts No. 1 receiver. A big reason why Carson Wentz only had 57 passing yards last week was Pittman getting ejected for the final 20 minutes of the game. This week’s game also has shootout potential. Both teams averaging 27 plus points per game. Furthermore, the Cardinals have also allowed 19 touchdowns to wide receivers on the season. Pittman should have himself a nice game in a favorable matchup.

Jarvis Landry (DK 5,100 | FD 6,600)

Landry has been activated from the Covid-19 list after missing Cleveland’s last game. Outside of Nick Chubb, he is the only playmaker for the Browns. He’s been banged up all season but he’s scored three touchdowns in his last six games. Two of those have come on rushing attempts so they are trying to get him the ball. Look for Landry to have a great game especially considering they will likely be playing from behind.

Tight End

Marcedes Lewis (DK 2,600 | FD 4,400)

Lewis has been primarily the blocking tight end all season. However, in the last two weeks, he has gotten involved more with seven receptions going for 91 yards. Since losing Robert Tonyan, Lewis has been getting a few more looks and that should continue this week. The tight ends on the slate aren’t the best, especially with no elite options. Lewis will save you money and with his increased targets should easily have a good value on this slate.

Defense

Green Bay Packers (DK 3,000 | FD 4,700)

Baker Mayfield has shown in his career that he will turn the ball over. The Packers defense has struggled of late with points but they’ve been able to score touchdowns and produce turnovers. Furthermore, the other three defenses on this slate have tough matchups. That makes the Packers defense a lock especially since they will be facing the worst quarterback on the slate.
