After an extremely busy day two of the NFL Draft, all eyes turn to what teams will do on the final day. This is where we see the sleeper picks, the diamonds in the rough, and the “my guys” players all getting selected. Here is a list of the top 10 best available players going into day three.
1) Jabril Cox, LB, LSU
Cox not being selected in the first two days of the draft is almost criminal. He is an incredibly talented player and should be the first player off the board. It seems Cox has fallen victim to teams just have a little more priority over him but he certainly should have gone last night. Don’t be surprised if a linebacker needy team tries to trade up with Jacksonville to get their hands on a guy who is incredible in coverage and has great all-around range.

2) Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, USC
St. Brown is a special player. The reason he’s probably fallen this far is because of his testing numbers. Nothing really jumped off the chart in that aspect. However, St. Brown is one of the most talented wide receivers in this class. He can do it all and has a superb route-running ability. While there is a ton of receivers right in the mix with him, St. Brown should be the first one off the board today.

3) Michael Carter, RB, UNC
There are lots of really talented running backs remaining but Carter could be the best of the bunch. A pure runner, Carter saw his counterpart Javonte Williams go to the Denver Broncos early in the second round. Now, it seems Carter will be the guy to go early in the draft day.

4) Demetric Felton, RB/WR, UCLA
Another running back here. Felton is a guy who can line up anywhere on the field. Teams may even see him more as a wide receiver but his versatility is almost unmatched. He does need to develop a little bit but teams should be eager to select this guy. He may not go too early on in the day but keep an eye out for Felton.

5) Hamsah Nasirildeen, S, Florida State
If Nasirildeen didn’t have injury concerns, he could very well be a high-end day two pick. He possesses a unique frame for a safety standing at 6’4.” This will make him great for matchups against bigger tight ends and it’s a bit surprising he didn’t get selected last night for this reason alone. Besides the frame, Nasirildeen has elite range and can fly all over the field. He makes excellent plays on the ball and is just a do it all guy. Again, the injury concerns are there but look for him to go in the fourth.

6) Austin Watkins, WR, UAB
Watkins has flown under the radar and has yet to be picked. He has a unique blend of size, speed, and route-running ability. Teams looking for a wide receiver should be quick to jump on Watkins as he can fit into any scheme he’s put into. The talent is all there for Watkins, now a team must take a shot on a guy who is not well known to the media.

7) Trey Smith, OG, Tennessee
It’s very surprising that Smith is still here on day three. From the way reports were coming out, it seemed he was a surefire guy to land in day two. Now, a guy who put up extreme numbers at his pro day must wait to hear his name called. Expect Smith to go in the fourth round as the offensive line class gets a bit thinner.

8) Daviyon Nixon, DT, Iowa
One of the top defensive tackles in this class still remains going into day three. Nixon could see his name go early to a team in need of defensive tackle depth. Nixon can do it all and is just a really savvy football player. One of the smartest guys in his position, he could be a coach’s dream because of this natural intelligence.

9) Jamar Johnson, S, Indiana
For a guy who got a ton of late draft hype, Johnson still ends up waiting on day three. This elite safety class is starting to thin out, so Johnson could go a bit early today. A very instinctual corner, Johnson has some really nice raw abilities. He may have to develop more a year or two but that is exactly what day three of the draft is for. It would be pretty surprising if he doesn’t go in the fourth round.

10) Cameron McGrone, LB, Michigan
Cameron McGrone probably should have stayed at Michigan another year, and it’s a big reason why he’s fallen. That being said, McGrone is a super talented player who has an incredible sideline-to-sideline ability. He gives effort on every down and he’ll give his next team everything he’s got. McGrone has the talent to be taken in the fourth, but don’t be surprised if he falls to the later rounds.
