Two weeks of scouting are now in the books for our college prospects and another one follows with very intriguing matchups and some players that could make some noise that isn’t too well known. This week, we tap into the MAC as well as some other group of five conferences, but may even sneak a peek at the higher-ups in this class.
Note: These players are only those eligible in the 2022 NFL Draft class.
Kaleb Eleby, QB, Western Michigan
Once again, we start off with a quarterback and this one right here is a name that has flown so far under the radar. There are tons of talented quarterbacks in this class, so we are still figuring out where each will be drafted but it seems that as of now Eleby is a late-round to undrafted prospect when he shouldn’t really be. He makes his team so much better and when not pressured a ton, he was flawless against Michigan. This week against a solid Pitt team, Eleby will get to show again that he can compete with the best.
Michael Pratt, QB, Tulane
How about we double-dip on the quarterbacks this week? If you haven’t followed college football too much by now, then you wouldn’t know it but Tulane just scores points on points, mostly because of Pratt. He has been impressive in both weeks of play, especially against Oklahoma, and has another chance to perform against Ole Miss this week. The Green Wave can legitimately knock off Ole Miss if Pratt and company can torch Lane Kiffin’s defense and don’t be surprised if he does.
Ty Fryfogle, WR, Indiana
Indiana’s offense got off to quite the rough start against Iowa before bouncing back a little bit last week. For Fryfogle, he’s struggled so far with only five catches through the two games and it does not get easier at all going against Cincinnati in their upcoming matchup. The Bearcats bost a tremendous secondary led by Coby Bryant and Ahmad Gardner that will test Fryfogle tremendously. Let’s see if he can break out in this game.
Demarvin Leal, DL, Texas A&M
Leal came into this season as a consensus top 10 prospect. However, he has barely played like a second-rounder. It’s not like A&M faced some stellar teams either. Kent State is pretty bad and Colorado is a team that they should’ve beat by a lot more. Going against New Mexico this week, we want to see Leal dominate the competition. It’s a weaker offensive line and he should hopefully have a field day.
Brandon Joseph, SAF, Northwestern
If I had to make my best guess right now, I’d say Joseph’s stock has fallen a little bit so far this season. In two games he has 10 total tackles with no interceptions or any plays on the ball for that matter. Going against a low-tier Power 5 opponent in Duke now, Joseph has a chance to get right back up to the mid-first-round talent that he’s been advertised as for so long. He needs to be everywhere on the field and he can do so, he’ll just have to throw himself right back into the action like he’s done throughout his career.
