Celtics’ Jaylen Brown Uses Platform to Peacefully Inspire Change

Jaylen Brown is no stranger to heroics on the court. Now, he is bringing his leadership, bravery, and talent to a meaningful location way from Boston’s TD Garden.

From a leader on the parquet to a leader in his community, the 23-year-old stands for every athlete that looks to create change by using his or her platform. Brown is a role model to a community of protesters who are non-violent but still send a message.

The Boston star made his voice heard in the streets of Atlanta on Saturday afternoon. After tweeting out multiple plans to join members of the community during protests over the weekend, Brown made the 15-hour trek from Boston to Atlanta.

Victims of violent and unsteady protests, the streets of Atlanta were impacted heavily during violent riots on Thursday and Friday night that destroyed the CNN headquarters, many local businesses, and the College Football Hall of Fame. Wanting to create change, Brown made the initiative to join fellow activists to create a safe but impactful protest against police brutality.

While Brown isn’t the only athlete to inspire change throughout the nation, the Celtics star truly took matters into his own hands by inspiring change in a community that needed it 15 hours away.
