Celtics and Cavaliers Will Jockey for No. 1 Seed Tonight

The Boston Celtics will host the Cleveland Cavaliers in a battle for Eastern Conference supremacy tonight at 8 p.m. As of now, the two teams are in a stalemate for the top spot.

Cleveland currently leads the season series with Boston two games to one. However, all of these matches have been decided by six or fewer points. The Celtics were the victors the last time these two squads met, though the Cavaliers were without starting power forward Kevin Love.

Love is expected to be back for this contest, but his front court mate Tristian Thompson will miss this game. Thompson had previously held an NBA high streak of 447 consecutive games played. That will end tonight as a sprained thumb will sideline the big man.

Meanwhile, the Celtics appear to be at full strength as both guard Avery Bradley and forward Jae Crowder are expected to be a go in this one. Bradley missed the Celtics last two games with an illness while Crowder left the team’s last matchup against the New York Knicks with elbow swelling.

With playoff seeding on the line this is sure to be an excellent, hard-fought game.
