College Basketball

Another week chalk full of upsets just went down in college basketball. The field for the tournament is looking absolutely stacked, but the bubble grows. Teams are fighting for survival left and right, and this top 25 alone is quite crowded. Now, let’s take a look at how the voters did this week.

Does Auburn Deserve Such a Drop?

This one is more of an overall question that we can’t quite put the answer to. Auburn has lost twice on the road in the last two weeks. They aren’t playing nearly at their best, but the Tigers still only have three losses, which is right up there with the top schools. With games against Ole Miss and Tennesee this week, Auburn has a nice slate to bounce back.

Tennessee Shouldn’t Have Fallen

Yes, Tennessee did go 1-1 this week but by no means did they deserve to fall in the rankings. Home domination over Kentucky propelled this team to their peak, however, a loss at Arkansas is why the voters moved them down. Their performance against Kentucky, though, has been taken way too lightly and the Volunteers should have ascended these ranks.

Iowa Still Needed Time

There isn’t really a great reason that the Hawkeyes are on this list besides the fact that they beat Ohio State on Saturday. Before that, they lost to a staggered Michigan team in the same week. Iowa scores a ton of points, but at 18-8 and no serious wins to their resume, you’d like to see other teams get thrown in at those later spots. It will be interesting to see how Iowa does with games against Michigan State and Nebraska this week.
