The Walsh Way – Week One NFL DFS GPP Plays

First, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Kevin Walsh, and I am from Pittsburgh, PA. I have been playing DFS since DraftStreet still existed. This is my first season writing for The Scorecrow, and this is my first tournament rundown. I have written about DFS before, so hopefully, that shouldn’t be too much of an issue. I am a huge football and hockey fan, and I am always so engulfed in fantasy sports from September until January. I plan to give you a peek inside what I have going on in my head and hopefully lead you to some DFS success (as well as myself, of course), but enough about me, let’s get to the good stuff.

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame gave out orange Hall of Fame Jackets to the Class of 2019 inductees and those representing the inductees at a formal press conference sponsored by Haggar yesterday afternoon. The twelve 2019 inductees are Al Attles, Carl Braun, Chuck Cooper, Vlade Divac, Bill Fitch, Bobby Jones, Sidney Moncrief, Jack Sikma, Tennessee A&I teams of 1957-1959, Wayland Baptist Flying Queens 1948-1982, Teresa Weatherspoon, and Paul Westphal. Here’s what some of them had to say after the event.

The game of football is both simple and nuanced. It has evolved much in the last 40 years. Ever since Don Coryell aired it out in San Diego and Bill Walsh created the West Coast Offense, you could begin to see a slow shift from a run-based offense to a pass-based one. As it has shifted so has the offense, and now it’s time to focus on a pass rush up the middle instead of the edge.

Two days after the Atlanta Braves joined the 80-win club, the Minnesota Twins join the party. In Atlanta, there seems to be doubt as far as the pitching goes. In Minnesota, fans and broadcasters (like Jenny Taft, Jamie Hersch, Marney Gellner, Dawn Mitchell, Jamie Erdahl, and Kevin Gorg,) are simply excited that this season has exceeded expectations. Of course, this is said on one condition. Our @jball0202 expects championships in Minnesota, and nothing else (maybe championship-style writing from me? I do my best.)
