It’s been a strange week of highs and lows for the New York Rangers. Several players ended up o the Covid-19 list at the beginning of the week, which eventually bled over into the coaching staff, falling victim to the same protocol.
Sports fans rejoice! Spring is in the air! We swept the board on our three picks last time out to bring the overall record to 20-12-1. Let’s continue picking winners for another full Saturday slate for this edition of Ice Picks.
Buffalo, New York. The Queen City, home to world-class chicken wings, the Buffalo Bills, and Buffalo Sabres hockey team. Barring anything extraordinary, the Sabres are set to miss out on the postseason for the 10th consecutive season.
After winning three in a row, it really looked like the New York Rangers were making headway with finding their game this season. But, as always, you can count on the Rangers to present an image of being consistently inconsistent.
The New York Islanders have been surging. They have won seven straight, losing last on February 27th. That was in overtime against the Penguins, and considering they won the two games prior to that, they have a 10 game point streak and last lost in regulation on February 20th, also against Pittsburgh. They have lost just twice at home, and they were both in overtime. Right now, they sit atop the East division with a 17-6-4 record and a .704 points percentage. So of course, the Hockey Gods had to try to stop them.
The weekend is here and so is our chance to make some money. We have a lighter slate of games to choose from tonight. Let’s dive in and break it down. Welcome to NHL Ice Picks.
After being selected in the first round, 16th overall back at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, it’s certainly taken some time for Arizona Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun to “find his feet” at the National Hockey League level. Well, hockey fans, the wait is officially over.
