Super Bowl LIV is just three weeks away and yesterday I broke down the complicated ins and outs of free agency. Today I’m going to break down the top upcoming free agents at several positions. A lot of these players will likely be given the franchise or transition tag assuming they don’t reach a long term deal before free agency begins.

Now that Super Bowl LIV is only three weeks away, it is time to start looking ahead at the 2020 season. Yes, already. The first major event of the NFL offseason is free agency. The idea of free agency seems pretty simple, unsigned players can sign with new teams for more money. However, free agency is actually very complex, but fear not, that’s what I am here for.

Many had the Chargers pegged for a long route to the postseason and potentially the Super Bowl. I for one had them ranked third overall in my preseason power rankings behind only the Patriots and Saints. The team had plenty of drama before the regular-season opener as Melvin Gordon was holding out for a new contract. Gordon would eventually end his holdout before week four. Superstar safety, Derwin James missed a significant amount of time with a foot injury suffered in mid-August. James would return by week 11, but it was too little too late.
