This week, a multitude of high-profile sporting events were postponed or canceled due to the coronavirus. Events like March Madness and the Big Ten and SEC basketball championship brackets have been canceled and a couple of NBA players have tested positive for the virus since the league’s announcement of the league being suspended. The NFL is in its offseason but is now approaching the time where the teams address their needs by flying in players from all over the country for visits with free agents and draft-eligible players. I’ll take a look at how the virus has affected the league already as well as events in the near future it could affect.

Tampa Bay had a season that most probably expected. It wasn’t great, but it also didn’t send fans running back for refunds every week. They finished 7-9 on the year, mostly thanks to strong run defense and offensive weapons that made their quarterback look alright. However, offensive line play was pretty bad, and the run offense was pedestrian. The Bucs come into the draft having only seven picks this year, and these positions should be big target areas for Tampa Bay to address.

The Seattle Seahawks had a much better season than most expected. Russell Wilson made miracles happen behind a lackluster offensive line, Tyler Lockett, and rookie receiver D.K. Metcalf. Even as the running game lost their top two running backs in Rashaad Penny and Chris Carson by season’s end, this team still put up a fight in the playoffs getting eliminated in the divisional round against the Green Bay Packers. Seattle put up a respectable 11-5 record in a solid season.

The Panthers are a very confusing team to figure out. Do they need a QB, WR, or defensive help more than anything else? Well, with a top 10 draft pick, they have options, and a lot of good options.
