With the emergence of some Senior Bowl standouts, there has been a hush amongst those juniors that were not eligible to attend. One of these guys not getting talked about enough lately is Purdue’s George Karlaftis.
Arnold Ebiketie burst onto the scene in 2021 after transferring to Penn State following three seasons at Temple. The former three-star recruit had a fairly easy transition from the American Athletic Conference to the Big Ten Conference.
The national champion Georgia Bulldogs were built on their defense. Guys like Jordan Davis, Devonte Wyatt, Travon Walker, Nakobe Dean, and Lewis Cine are all getting serious draft heat. One player getting a tad overlooked by the others is linebacker Quay Walker.
Of the 116 players listed on Senior Bowl rosters, only one can be the game MVP. This year, this player was Minnesota’s Boye Mafe. The big question now stands, was the Senior Bowl a fluke for this former three-star prospect, or does Mafe have what it takes to be a high draft pick in April?
We’ve hit the point of the draft season where we look for those sleeper players. Brad Hawkins is one of these guys. While the Michigan defense is producing players like Aidan Hutchinson, David Ojabo, and Daxton Hill, Hawkins was the glue of this unit.
The Senior Bowl is a great place for smaller-school players to stand out. This is exactly what happened for Northern Iowa’s Trevor Penning.
Matt Corral was a four-star prospect and a consensus top 100 recruit amongst all recruitment services. He committed to Ole Miss and redshirted his freshmen season
Skylar Thompson is a quarterback that has not received much draft hype because he is probably a day three pick at best. He was good on the field and the classroom and may have played himself into a chance at the next level.
The former three-star recruit has been solid when healthy and has displayed tremendous mobility. The question is: if he gets picked up, what value can he bring to an NFL team?
In a talented 2022 wide receiver class, teams will be scrounging for late-round guys that can be classified as sleepers. Romeo Doubs has seen his name come up in many of these conversations.
Malik Willis is arguably the most talented quarterback in this class. It’s been a steady rise to the top for Willis after entering college as a three-star quarterback.
