Four takeaways from last night’s 93-75 victory over the Charlotte Hornets.
Michael Malone, during his post-game press conference after Tuesday night’s win against Minnesota, came right out and said, “I made the decision to shorten the rotation, only play 8 guys in the first quarter, and I’m going to continue to do that for the time being.” That rotation included the regular starters in Murray, Harris, Barton, Millsap, Jokic, and the 3 most crucial bench pieces with Morris, Beasley, and Plumlee.
Here are my four takeaways from Wednesday’s 108-74 victory over the Detroit Pistons
Chris Bosh was drafted with the 4th overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Toronto Raptors. In seven seasons with the Raptors, Bosh would make five NBA All-Star games from 2005 until his departure from the team after the 2009-10 season via sign-and-trade with the Miami Heat.
This season has not gone well for the Los Angeles Lakers, but that might be just a bit of an understatement as the Lakers are currently sitting in the 11th seed in the Western Conference with playoff hopes fading fast. Luke Walton has been criticized throughout the season by fans and media alike, and it is believed among NBA circles that Magic Johnson already has a replacement in mind.

In a matter of 24 hours, LeBron James has passed Michael Jordan on the NBA’s all-time scoring list and reportedly was given a minutes restriction by the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports. The report also indicates LeBron “likely won’t play back-to-backs.”
Here are my four takeaways from Wednesday night’s 91-84 Heat victory over the Charlotte Hornets.
It’s only been 7 games since Isaiah Thomas’ return and the honeymoon phase with fans and local media is already wearing off. I get it, he hasn’t played in 11 months and he’s going to have to find that groove again and work his way back and that’s all well and good, but not here and certainly not at this point in the season.
In part one of this weeks’ Rookie Report we took a look at Marvin Bagley III and the impressive work he did against two of the most imposing teams in the Western Conference.

In part two we’ll head over to the Eastern Conference where Trae Young had two very impressive overtime performances.
Here are my four takeaways from the Miami Heat’s 114-113 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.
Today is the 29th anniversary of Hank Gathers’ tragic death. If you don’t know who that is, don’t worry. At this point, after this many years, it’s quite easy to have never known who Gathers was, as a player or as a man. But for people who did get the chance to follow his career, they won’t forget easily.
For the sake of readers who either want to learn or reminisce, for the sake of my own undying need to write about the greatest phenomenon the world of basketball missed out on for terribly tragic reasons, and, hopefully, for the sake of Gathers’ legacy – so even a few more people can know of his story – it’s time to take a trip back through the time machine to meet a kid who loved basketball named Hank.
