The Buffalo Bills will be looking to build off of the 2018 draft where they were able to draft two players quick to take on big roles with the team in quarterback Josh Allen and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds. Along with their two first-round picks last year, the Bills were able to find two diamonds in the rough in undrafted cornerback Levi Wallace and receiver Robert Foster. That said, the Bills still need to make key additions to several positions.
Buffalo has over $80 million in cap space and 10 selections in this year’s draft to help fill in those gaps. The main needs for the team are on the offensive side of the ball, and, more specifically, offensive tackles, guards, centers, and wide receivers. Meanwhile, on the defensive side, the Bills need to replace the heart and soul for the past 13 years in Kyle Williams.
Let’s go through each position of need and list potential free agents the Bills may target, as well as players that could be available in the draft when the Bills are on the clock.
Offensive Tackle
The list of impending free agents includes Ja’Wuan James, Trent Williams, and Daryl Williams. Potential first rounders would be Johan Williams, Cody Ford, and Dalton Risner. Some of the day-two players to look for would be David Edwards, Jaawan Taylor, and Nate Davis, while some of the players to watch on the third day of the draft are Tytus Howard, Martez Ivey, Oli Udoh, and Chuma Edoga.
Guard
Among the several impending free agents at the guard position are Rodger Saffold, Andy Levitre, and Mark Glowinski. No guard is worth a first round pick this year. However, some of the later selections could be Micheal Deiter, Beau Benzschawel, Chris Lindstrom, Ben Powers, and Dru Samia.
Center
The list of upcoming free agents features Matt Paradis, Mitch Morse, and Nick Eason. Among the draft-eligible players that the Bills could get in the first round would be Dalton Risner and Garrett Bradbury, while the list of mid-round players to target would be Elgton Jenkins, Erik McCoy, and Keegan Reinder.
Wide Receiver
Some of the impending free agent wide receivers the Bills could target are Tyrell Williams, Golden Tate, John Brown, and Kevin White. Draft-eligible players the Bills could land in the first round would be names that you’ve already heard of, such as D.K. Metcalf, Nkeal Harry, Kelvin Harmon, and Marquise Brown, while some of the later players to go to Buffalo could be Deebo Samuel, J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Riley Ridley, Anthony Johnson, and Hakeem Butler.
Defensive Tackle
Of the many offensive tackles that are set to hit free agency, four stand out as potential targets for Buffalo; those four players are Jordan Phillips, Bennie Logan, David Irving, and Kyle Love. Draft-eligible players the Bills could look at in the first round would be Quinnen Williams, Ed Oliver, Jeffery Simmons, and Christian Wilkins. Mid-round players that could be available are Isaiah Buggs, Renell Wren, Daylon Mack, Kingsley Keke, and Daniel Wise.
