BU Cruises Past Wheaton, 83-48

Boston University collected an 83-48 win against Wheaton College on Sunday night.

 

The start of the season was rocky for the Terriers as they were unable to find a win until their fourth game, but they’ve certainly turned things around.

Freshman Andrew Petcash led BU in scoring with a season-high 15 points. Fellow freshman Sukhmail Mathon scored 13 points.

Senior Nick Havener also played a strong game helping BU get to an aggressive start with two layups in the first five minutes.

BU finished the game with 52 rebounds, its most since snatching 55 against Lafayette last season.

Boston University takes on New Hampshire (1-5) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

More Money, More Problems.

I took a casual poll on whether or not college athletes should be paid or compensated when their respective university uses their image or likeness. The results were not as I expected. Out of about 100 people who responded, 72 of them said that college athletes should not be paid. This sample included people who had played and who were passionate about college athletics, people who were recently out of college and people who have been graduated for a long time. I personally voted that they should be compensated for their image being used for marketing or recruiting and in a way, they are with scholarships. But we all know that scholarships can only help so much.
