Bruins Send Rookie to Providence

The Boston Bruins assigned rookie left wing Anders Bjork to their AHL affiliate in Providence Wednesday.

The 21-year-old has shown signs of potential throughout the season but hasn’t been able to string together much consistency thus far.

The rookie has 12 points total on the season but has only managed to accumulate three over his last 12 games.

Bjork suffered a lower-body injury in November, but since he returned to the ice, he hasn’t been the same and has more often than not been a healthy scratch from the lineup.

Bjork wasn’t in the lineup for the team’s last two games and likely won’t return until an injury opens up a roster spot.

With the team playing very well right now and Bjork getting minimal playing time, now seems like an appropriate time to send the rookie down to Providence for an AHL stint.

The Notre Dame superstar started the year on the Bruins first line, but slowly saw his minutes slip away.

Hopefully, a stint in the AHL will help the rookie regain some confidence and find his footing.
