Bruins Place David Krejci on IR; Rule out Brad Marchand for Monday Night

The Boston Bruins, who already were snake bitten with injuries so far this year, suffer an additional blow as the team announced center David Krejci has been placed on IR.

Krejci has missed the last six games with an upper body injury and will now miss at least the next week.

He will miss the Bruins’ matchups against the Minnesota Wild, New York Rangers, and two showdowns with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In his six games this season, he has one goal and five assists to go along with a -6 plus-minus on the ice.

The Bruins injury woes don’t end there however as the team also announced that Brad Marchand has been ruled OUT Monday night with an upper body injury of his own.

Marchand took a major hit from the Washington Capitals’ Tom Wilson in Saturday’s 3-2 loss, but he didn’t miss a shift and didn’t leave the bench.

As usual he leads the team with 14 points and his eight goals are tied for the most of any player on the Bruins roster. Marchand is critical to the Bruins’ success.

The star forward isn’t expected to miss any additional time, but with the current state of the injury report the way it is, now is the worst possible time for the Bruins to lose their best player.
