Bruins Pen Pastrnak to 6-year, $40 Million Deal

David Pastrnak has ended his holdout and agreed to a six-year contract with Boston Bruins, the team announced Thursday. The new deal is worth $40 million, with an annual salary cap hit of $6.67 million.

The 21-year-old was selected 25th overall by the Bruins in 2014 and is coming off his best campaign to date in which he set new career highs in games played (75), goals (34), assists (36) and penalty minutes (34). The winger who logged major minutes on the top line of Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand finish second on the team in points while also being top 10 in goals scored in the league.

With his new contract, Pastrnak becomes the fourth highest paid player within the Bruins organization with only Bergeron, Tuukka Rask and David Krejci with a higher cap hit.
