The Boston Bruins are set to open the 2019-2020 NHL season against the Dallas Stars tomorrow night at 8:30 p.m. This is the first of four games on the road to start the season for the Bruins.
“We play four really good teams on this trip. It will be a good test to see where we are at right away,” Bruins forward Sean Kuraly said. “We want to show we are still a hungry team – put ourselves in a good position to start, and that’s our goal.”
Over the last 10 games against Dallas, the Bruins are 6-4. They went 1-1 against the Stars last season, and both games were decided by one goal in overtime.
The roster for tomorrow’s game has yet to be finalized, but Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy says that Bruins forward David Krejci is a game-time decision. Krejci had sustained a lower-body injury in last Monday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Flyers after falling awkwardly on the ice and not returning.
The veteran center returned to practice this morning wearing a white jersey rather than a red no-contact one.
“I feel better again today than yesterday,” Krejci said regarding his status. “Tomorrow we’ll decide if I [play] or not.”
The Bruins also announced that they have assigned Peter Cehlarik and Jakub Zboril to the Providence Bruins, and have placed Joakim Nordstrom on the IR.
Practice lines at Warrior this morning looked like this:
Marchand – Bergeron – Pastrnak
DeBrusk – Krejci – Kuhlman
Heinen – Coyle – Backes
Wagner – Kuraly – Ritchie/Lindholm
Nordstrom
Chara – McAvoy
Krug – Carlo
Grzelcyk – Clifton/Kampfer
Rask, Halak
