Well, COVID-19 has claimed another sports victim.

The NFL has become the last of the major North American sports leagues to have an athlete or coach contract the quick-spreading virus.

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement, Payton said the following:

“Appreciate the well wishes. I’m feeling better and fortunate to not have any of the respiratory symptoms. 4 more days at home.”

Additionally, through ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Sean Payton said he came forward with his coronavirus diagnosis because he wants all people to heed the warnings of government officials as they stay inside and behave responsibly.

Hopefully, the 56-year-old Payton can fully recover and not cost himself or the Saints any effects from his positive test.
