Kenny Clark Signs 4-Year Extension With Green Bay Packers

Following a recent flurry of contract extensions, the Green Bay Packers have extended nose tackle Kenny Clark with a record setting deal.

The extension totals four years and is worth $70 million with a massive $25 million signing bonus. The deal makes Clark the highest paid nose tackle in NFL history.

The extension follows Clark’s first Pro Bowl year in 2019. The 24-year-old led a Packers defense that powered Green Bay to a 13-3 record last season.

Clark would have been an unrestricted free agent after the 2020 season. After posting six sacks and anchoring the run defense for the Packers for the last four years, extending Clark was a priority for Brian Gutekunst and the front office in Titletown.

With Chicago Bears defensive tackle Eddie Goldman opting out of the 2020 NFL season, Clark appears to be the top interior lineman in the NFC North.

Although Green Bay now has one defensive player locked down, Jaire Alexander will likely be the next young player on the dynamic defensive unit to be targeted for an extension from the Packers.

Green Bay starts training camp on Saturday, with the team showing up collectively at Lambeau Field for the first time since their NFC Championship loss against the San Francisco 49ers.
