The New England Patriots will officially be down a coach in the 2020 season.

Per Adam Schefter, the New York Giants are finalizing a deal with special teams coordinator and wide receivers coach Joe Judge as the next man to lead their sideline.

Judge, 38, started work for the Patriots in 2012 as a Special Teams assistant before becoming the unit’s coordinator in 2015. He took over as wide receivers coach when Chad O’Shea left for the Miami Dolphins after the 2018 season.

Judge also has ties to one of coach Bill Belichick’s closest friends Nick Sabban, working as special teams assistant for the University of Alabama from 2009 to 2011.
