Brandon’s Best Bets: NASCAR’s Dixie Vodka 400

NASCAR DFS February 28 2021

This week we head to the first mile and a half track of the season down in Homestead, Miami.  We are two weeks into the NASCAR Cup Series and there have already been two first time winners. Michael McDowell was able to conquer the Daytona 500 and last week Christopher Bell passed Joey Logano on the final lap to pick up his first career victory on the Road Course.

Who will win this week? Let’s find out and take a look at the best bets for the Dixie Vodka 400.

Outright Winner

Denny Hamlin (+500)

Hamlin has won at Homestead three times in his career. He dominated most of the race last season, starting on the pole leading 137 laps and winning the race. He even won both stages so he was dialed in from the start.

This year, the Toyotas have shown plenty of speed to start the season. Hamlin’s teammate Bell showed that speed and was able to capture the win last week on the Daytona Road Course. Hamlin was very strong at the 500 before getting shuffled back after the last round of green flag pit stops. At his odds and how dominant he can be, it’s tough to not go with Hamlin in this race.

Ryan Blaney Outright Winner (+1600)

In last year’s Dixie Vodka 400 race, Blaney ran very well. Not only did he finish third in the race but he was up front all day, finishing second and fourth in the two stages prior to the final laps. Blaney led 70 laps in that race but was unable to take down Hamlin. If the latter has any problems in this race, Blaney should be right there to capitalize on them and be a contender for the win.

Race Props

Car Number of Race Winner Over 10.5 (-143)

These bets are tough to pick but the odds are pretty solid. The main guys you have to worry about winning under 10.5 are Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Larson, and Chase Elliott. Other than them, you get the rest of the top drivers in the series. Between all of Joe Gibbs Racing, Blaney, Logano, and everyone else above car number 10.5 this seems like really good odds.

Austin Dillon Top-10 Finish (+150)

Dillon has a good track record at Homestead. In his last two races, he finished seventh and eighth. In his two races prior, he finished 11th in both races. This season, Dillon is already off to a great start. He won one of the Gatorade duels and finished third in the Daytona 500.

Dillon has gained some momentum to start the season even after a 34th-place finish last week after a late wreck with Kurt Busch and Chris Buescher. Look for Dillon to get back on track this week and find himself in the back end of the top-10.
