Brady vs. Belichick: A Blowout Through 7 Games

Brady vs Belichick is a blowout through seven games

Tom Brady and Bill Belichick went separate ways following last season after 20 years together. So far, Brady has put Belichick on notice.

One of the big storylines around the NFL going into the season was how Brady and Belichick were going to fare without being together. Brady went to Tampa Bay and brought along an old friend while Belichick brought in a reclamation project. If this were a boxing match, Brady would be standing over Belichick after knocking him down to the canvas.

Belichick is viewed as the greatest coach of all-time in the eyes of many, but perhaps that opinion has changed slightly. He had the luxury of having one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time on his team for two decades. The Belichick/Brady combination was the best quarterback/head coach duo ever, as it amounted to six Super Bowl victories. But once his prized possession left him, he has gone 2-4 in the Patriots first six games including back-to-back home losses to the Denver Broncos and an injury-riddled San Francisco 49ers team.

He is answering questions about who the starting quarterback is going to be next week. His quarterback, Cam Newton, admitted to WEEI on Monday his job may be in jeopardy if he doesn’t step it up.

Meanwhile, Belichick’s former quarterback is excelling in Florida. Yes, he has all the weapons you could ever ask for, such as Rob Gronkowski, Leonard Fournette, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, O.J. Howard, and his newest addition Antonio Brown. But it’s still worthy to note his team is being noticed by experts as the best team in the NFL through seven games.

Belichick, on the other hand, might be playing for a top-ten pick in next year’s NFL Draft. The two former companions went separate ways after last season to show the world they can win without one another. The problem is only one of them is showing the world they can win on their own — and that is Brady.
