The New England Patriots picked up the victory against the Buffalo Bills who lost more than just the game.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen ran out of the pocket into Jonathan Jones who hit him with a helmet to helmet collision forcing him to leave the game in concussion protocol.

Head coach Sean McDermott commented on the status of Allen.

“From what I know so far, he’s in concussion protocol at this point,” McDermott told reporters.

When asked about what he thought of Jones’ hit on his quarterback and the fact that he was not ejected, McDermott was visibly upset and seemed to agree with the reporter.

“There’s no room in football for that,” McDermott said. “It’s a shame to see a player like Josh or any player for that matter go down with a hit like that.”

The unnecessary roughness penalty called on the Patriots cornerback was offset by a penalty on the Bills offense

The consequence for Jones will most likely be a fine.
