It appears like the Boston Bruins will be without All-star center Patrice Bergeron for an extended period of time.
According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, Bergeron will miss upwards of four weeks with a suspected shoulder injury.
The 33-year-old suffered an injury in last week’s contest against the Dallas Stars after taking a hard hit into the boards. He flew back to Boston to be evaluated the next day.
Bergeron, who centers arguably the best line in hockey, had a great campaign last season with 30 goals and 63 points in 64 games. In 19 contests this season, the four-time Selke Trophy winner has nine goals and 17 assists.
This could be a significant blow to the battered Bruins, who are struggling with injuries in the early stages of the season.
