TUESDAY NIGHT

LeBron Returns; Lakers Beat Clippers

The latest entry in the Lakers-Clippers rivalry was an exciting one. Though this was a back and forth game for much of the first half, the Lakers began pulling away in the third quarter. The Lakers would jump out to a 14-point lead thanks to a three-pointer from Lance Stephenson with 45 seconds in the period. Montrezl Harrell would cut the Lakers lead to 12 off of a layup for the final points of the third quarter.

How Oladipo’s Injury Could Affect Indy’s Playoff Hopes

Victor Olapido suffered a gruesome injury to his right knee in Wednesday’s contest against the Toronto Raptors. Oladipo was carried off the court on a stretcher and looked to be in a tremendous amount of pain. The Lakers and Rockets squared off, each squad missing key pieces. The Lakers are still without LeBron James and Rajon Rondo while the Rockets are still without Clint Capela and Chris Paul. Lakers Injury Struggles Continue as Lonzo Goes Down

The Los Angeles Lakers entered Saturday’s contest against the Houston Rockets without star player LeBron James and backup point guard Rajon Rondo. Both players have been cleared to return to practice starting Monday and the timing could not be better with starting point guard Lonzo Ball suffering a sprained ankle in the third quarter against Houston. Ball is expected to miss the next 6 weeks making his potential return sometime in early March.

The Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder were in action Thursday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena and it was a much more competitive game than expected. The Lakers were without LeBron James and Rajon Rondo but were able to come away with an overtime victory due to stellar shooting, solid bench-play, and impressive defense.

Tonight, the Los Angeles Lakers will be traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah to take on the Jazz in what should be an exciting matchup. Currently, the eight teams holding playoff spots in the West are separated by only 5.5 games and a win for either team could play a big role in the Western Conference playoff race. The Lakers and Jazz hold the 8th and 9th playoff spots in the conference and are only separated by two games.
