The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defenses from 1996 to 2005 were absolutely electric. They were rated in the top 10 in points allowed during every season of this stretch. They were led by defensive tackle Warren Sapp, who is the franchises leader in all-time sacks, Derrick Brooks, who was a do it all linebacker, and Ronde Barber, who is the franchises all-time leader in interceptions. These defenses were built by excellent drafting, excellent coaching, and all of the stars aligning. The first four years of the Buccaneers’ great defense were the building block pieces to a historically great defense.

The San Francisco 49ers got another first-round draft pick to add onto their 31st overall selection after trading star defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to the Indianapolis Colts for the 13th overall pick in this year’s draft. This opens up a world of opportunities for the Niners, who can now draft a premier player on day one. Their main and central need is at wide receiver especially after Emmanuel Sanders left in free agency to sign with the New Orleans Saints. Other draft needs are at defensive tackle, safety, and offensive line.

The San Francisco 49ers rookie class of last season performed to outstanding levels, with Nick Bosa winning Defensive Rookie of the Year. Deebo Samuel looking like a future go-to receiver for Jimmy Garoppolo with his versatility and his receiving skills. Jalen Hurd has yet to play a game but showed upside during the offseason. Justin Skule, who filled in admirably for Joe Staley and Mitch Wishnowsky, who averaged of 44.9 yards per punt. It was good enough for the Niners to be awarded the “Best Draft Class” award at the Combine this year. There is almost no way this draft class can live up to the power the last draft class had, but I’ll attempt to predict how the 49ers will make an attempt to change their future now.

As of 2020, there are currently six quarterbacks according to OverTheCap that are being paid upwards of $30,000,000 annually. Those QB’s are Russell Wilson, Ben Roethlisberger, Aaron Rodgers, Jared Goff, Carson Wentz, and Matt Ryan. Obviously, all of these quarterbacks have done something to earn their contracts, but what got us to this point where quarterbacks are demanding upwards of $30M dollars?

After playing 20 games and going through a grueling season full of injuries and comebacks, the Chiefs and 49ers are here, in America’s biggest game, and on America’s biggest stage. Here lies the legacies of two storied franchises. The Kansas City Chiefs are trying to win a Super Bowl for the first time in 50 years, while the Niners trying to return to glory after a 25 year absence. Both teams are trying to erase the past, which they’d both love to forget for different reasons. The Niners are trying to erase the taste of their Super Bowl 47 defeat, and the Chiefs are trying to erase the taste or 25 years of being one or two games away from glory.

The NFL’s most experienced quarterbacks are getting older, with that being said, the new era quarterbacks get ushered in like Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes, Houston Texans Deshaun Watson, and Baltimore Ravens Lamar Jackson. But we aren’t focused on the young guns today, we’re focused on the grizzled experienced vets who’ve been in the league for a long time, specifically any quarterback who’s older than 35. I’ll go over what the future holds for them and what could happen to them. To be covered they also have to be relevant and have the possibility to play in a big role next season.

The playoffs are a brutal time, your roster can be plagued by injuries, the players are tired, and the coaches are wary after five long months of football. A playoff bye does wonders for teams, first of all, it gives the team time to recuperate after at the very least seven straight weeks of football. It gives time for injured players to come back and it gives time to prepare and have a home playoff game in the divisional round. Most of all, it gives the players time to study film about the potential team they’ll be facing. Let’stake a look at the four teams who got a bye and why it is critical for them.

The NFC West has been absolutely wild this year, with three teams in playoff contention, and two being in contention for the top seed in the NFC. It’s been a wild ride so far, so in this article, I’ll go over the three teams and their chances of firstly winning the NFC West division and lastly winning the Super Bowl.
