Houston Texans Season Review: The Future is Bright

The 2017 season was looking so bright as rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson was setting the league on fire. Then a torn ACL in practice ended his season and the Houston Texans went on to win just one of their last nine games, but with a healthy Watson, the 2018 season had high hopes. However, the season started off very ugly. The Texans started the season 0-3 including with loses to the Tennessee Titans and New York Giants. Facing the Indianapolis Colts in week four, the Texans’ season flip 180 degrees within one snap.

Ideal Fantasy Football Landing Spots for the Top Free Agents

Now that the 2019 NFL combine is behind us, free agency is just around the corner. Every fan base will be excited or will be disappointed based on what kind of moves their team makes. Meanwhile, fantasy football players are keeping a close eye on where the top free agents land. This year’s free agency class isn’t very good offensively, so there will be a plenty of competition for the top players’ services. I determined the top 12 free agents (offensive guys only, no IDP names here) and picked out the best landing spot for their 2019 redraft fantasy value.

Post-Combine Positional Rankings Series

The 2019 NFL combine has come and gone while many players had great days, some had horrible ones. Now the scouts will go back to the tape to confirm what they saw at the combine. Some people will be swayed too much from the 40 times or the bench press but the tape is still the most important element when evaluating a player. Because of that, my rankings didn’t change much from pre-combine to post combine. However, there were some adjustments and below are my post combine rankings for each position.

Dallas Cowboys Season Review

The 2018 season was like night and day for the Dallas Cowboys. After starting the season 3-4, the Cowboys traded for Oakland Raiders’ wide receiver Amari Cooper and the whole season turned around. With Cooper on the roster, the Cowboys won seven of their last nine games and took home the NFC East title for the second time in three years. After winning their home playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks, 24-22, the Cowboys lost to the Los Angeles Rams 30-22 in the divisional round.

New England Patriots Season Review: Another Year, Another Title

On February 3rd, 2019 the New England Patriots took part in their fourth Super Bowl in the last five seasons; winning their third during that streak. Unlike the previous three appearances where the Patriots scored an average of 31.7 points per game, they were only able to put up 13 against the Los Angles Rams. However, a win is a win and Tom Brady couldn’t care less about how the score looks. With Brady’s sixth Super Bowl win, the argument for greatest quarterback of all time is pretty much over. In a season that had more drama and mistakes than usual the Patriots still came out on top, winning it’s sixth Super Bowl in franchise history.

The Scorecrow Top 100 NFL Players: 80-61

The writers at TheScorecrow.com decided to get together and come up with their version of a Top 100 NFL players from the 2018 season. Each writer was invited to submit a ranked list of their top 25 NFL players. The votes were then counted using a weighted average method. This means that a 1st place vote was worth more than a 25th place vote.

Players ranked 1st on a list received 25 points, 2nd = 24 points and so on down to 1 point for a 25th place vote. Each players points were added up and then listed from least to most to generate our list of top 100 players. The top few players were fairly common on all the lists, but after that it was interesting. We hope you enjoy our rankings and would love to read your comments on our list. Special thanks to Beth Sullivan for tabulating the votes and getting this project together.
