John Lepore | May 4th, 2020 If we have a Major League Baseball season this year, it will be the 60th for the California/Los Angeles
John Lepore | April 27th, 2020 The NFL Draft has come and gone. The New Orleans Saints started out with five picks heading into Thursday
The Strike of 1994 devastated baseball. It was the first time since 1904 that the World Series wasn’t played. It cut short historic seasons, deprived franchises of turning their fortunes around, and cost the game some fans who had grown up on the crack of the bat and the smell of peanuts. But on August 11, 1994, after Randy Johnson struck out Ernie Young, there was no joy in Mudville or any other town where baseball was played.
The Philadelphia Phillies finished exactly .500 last season. With J.T. Realmuto and Bryce Harper heading into 2019, the Phillies had high hopes for a playoff berth. While both players performed well (top 2 on the team in bWAR), the Phillies squad had other problems.

For the past three years, the Saints have been oh so close to getting back to the Super Bowl. Each year they retool to make another run. This year was no different as Mickey Loomis worked his cap magic as usual and brought in a couple new guys and some old friends.
The Milwaukee Brewers finished 89-73 last season. That was good enough for a Wild Card berth. They lost to the eventual World Series champs in the one-game playoff. They will look to get back to the playoffs this season but will have to do it without a few key players. Let’s take a look at what 202 holds in store for the Brew Crew.
The Minnesota Twins finished the season with 101 wins crossing the 100-win mark for just the second time ever (102 wins in 1965). The Bomba Squad set the Major League record for homers in a season with 307, but they couldn’t get past their playoff kryptonite in the New York Yankees and fell 3-0 in the ALDS. That was last year. Now, let’s look forward to the 2020 season, whenever that starts.
Today we go to the West Coast to visit the Los Angeles Angels. They’ve made some upgrades this off-season, but will it be enough to get to the playoffs for the first time since 2014?
Again, the New Orleans Saints’ season ended before the Super Bowl. And for the second time in three seasons, it was at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings on the last play of the game. They finished 13-3 but missed out on a bye week due to a tough early-season loss to the Los Angeles Rams (the game Drew Brees got hurt in), a horrible loss to the division rival Atlanta Falcons in early November, and with their fate in their hands, lost a shootout to the eventual NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers.
