Antonio Brown Pleads No Contest, Leaving His NFL Future Unknown

Antonio Brown plead no contest to felony burglary and battery charges and two misdemeanor charges on Friday. The charges stemmed from an incident Brown had in January with a moving company in Florida.

Brown will be on probation for two years and will have to do 100 hours of community service and attend a 13-week anger management program. He could also be psychologically evaluated and treated if necessary, according to Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com. Brown isn’t facing any jail time and can travel around the country for work purposes.

Carson Hancock, Brown’s attorney, released a statement saying, “Rather than engage in a protracted legal case, Mr. Brown decided to resolve this matter in an expeditious manner in consideration of his family and his football career.”

Brown has been out of the NFL since September of 2019. The New England Patriots released Brown after he was accused of sexual and personal misconduct, which is still under review and being investigated. The NFL could still fine or suspend him, according to Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.

On Instagram, Brown wrote “Big 4X soon” under a picture of him in his uniform. The Baltimore Ravens have the door open for him, and Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has lobbied the team to sign him, according to Mike Florio of ProFootball Talk.

Baltimore will likely be where Brown ends up if any team signs him. However, it still remains to be seen whether the NFL will fine or suspend him.
