The West Virginia Roughriders will host the Jersey Flight in the first round of the American Arena League playoffs at the Wesbanco Arena in Wheeling, WV Saturday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
The Roughriders defeated the Flight in their only meeting of the season back on May 18, 53-16. The win clinched the northern division for the Roughriders.
West Virginia brought back veteran quarterback Stephen Panasuk, who retired last season after playing with the Flight. Owner Gregg Fornario said there are other players who “you will see in the playoffs,” he said.
Jersey is not a team to be taken lightly, however. They are entering the postseason with a multitude of talent on both sides of the ball and can give the Roughriders a run for their money.
The winner of this game will host a semifinal playoff game on June 15. They will play the winner of the Western Michigan Ironmen – Indianapolis Enforcers game.
