After Special Milestone, Brad Marchand Teases Montreal Crowd

The Boston Bruins have managed to get their revenge over the Montreal Canadiens following a blatant “offside” challenge. That night, a controversial challenge took the fifth Bruins goal off the board and halted their momentum. This time around, nothing was stopping the Bruins from embarrassing the Habs in their home building.

The Bruins scored eight goals in Montreal for the seventh time in their franchise history. However, it occurred for only the first time since October 1998.

Brad Marchand is a pest in a positive way for his team and a rather ugly way for his opponent. There is no better way for him to display his qualities than in the rivalry games as a member of the Bruins, mainly in Canada. Last time the Bruins played in Toronto, he claimed the Player of the Game Award and “presented” it to the crowd.

On Tuesday night in Montreal, Brad Marchand secured his 600th NHL point with a goal late in the first period following a great steal from Charlie Coyle. The 31-year-old left-winger completed the rout with three points (a goal and two assists).

As the game was winding down and all the people knew what the outcome was going to be, the crowd became emptier and emptier. Marchand just loved it. “This is probably the rink we love to silence the most. We’re not going to say the game is over by any means. Anything can happen. We’ve seen that already this year,” said Marchand in an interview with NESN, even before the night was completed. Even before a touchdown was completed. And an extra point.

“But it’s a lot more fun when this rink is quiet. They’re very loud and obnoxious, so it does feel good to silence them.” The fans can all agree that playing in front of rejuvenated Montreal’s crowd is always a treat, but only if you win it. Lately, the Bruins have won six of their most recent seven visits to the Bell Centre.
