What appeared impossible just 24 hours ago happened.
The New England Patriots have reportedly signed All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown mere hours after his release from the Oakland Raiders.
Brown’s deal is similar to that of Darrelle Revis’s deal back in 2014 which was a one-year $12-million contract.
The Patriots had the best odds of signing him according to SportsLine at two-to-one.
The drama between Brown and the Raider’s brass began with the receiver injuring his feet in a cryotherapy tank.
What followed was the helmet debacle and then the reported altercation between he and general manager Mike Mayock which caused the team to suspend him.
He was reinstated by the team after issuing an apology but the team as punishment fined him $250,000 and took away his guaranteed money.
It came to a head when he told the Raiders on Instagram to release him in which the team granted in just mere hours.
All set and done, the All-Pro receiver spent only 192 days in Oakland.
For fantasy owners, the 2010 sixth-round pick is not eligible to play this week.
Similar to Revis, Brown is likely a rental as the Patriots will probably not pay a top-dollar extension for a wide receiver. Brown like Randy Moss is coming from the Raiders looking to revitalize his career.
