MLB DFS 6/25: Arms, Bashers, and Stacks

MLB DFS 5/25

As we head towards July, the 2022 MLB season is nearly three months old. With our run on MLB DFS for this season, we have been hitting on our picks of late. On another beautiful Saturday, there is a six-game slate beginning at 7:15 p.m. EDT. For this slate, let’s look at some options for arms, bashers, and stacks.

Arms

Logan Webb ($7,800) vs. Cincinnati Reds

After a slow start to the season, Webb has gotten going as of late. Over his last five starts, the right-hander has averaged seven strikeouts a game. He faces a bottom-feeding Reds lineup that massively struggles against righties. They hold a .676 OPS, 86 wRC+, and a 23 percent strikeout rate against right-handers on the season. Webb is an easy pick for the top pitching option on this slate at this price and against an offense so anemic.

Max Fried ($8,600) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

It’s usually not the smartest choice to pick arms against the Dodgers, but Fried is a different type of arm. The southpaw has pitched like an ace, recording over 20 DraftKings points in four of his last five starts while not allowing more than one run in those four. In his last three starts against the Dodgers, Fried has gone 2-0 while striking out 21 over 19 innings and surrendering just three runs on 11 hits. This could easily backfire, as Los Angeles could strike at any time, but let’s ride the hot hand of Fried for now.

Other options: Mitch White ($6,100), Zach Davies ($6,900), Chris Archer ($6,400)

Bashers

Freddie Freeman ($5,800) vs. Atlanta Braves

The former Brave returned to Atlanta last night and recorded 11 DraftKings points after going 1-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored. It was his sixth-straight game recording double-digit fantasy points and he is on an eight-game hitting streak. With some of the emotion gone from his return, Freeman could be more locked in on Saturday.

Javier Baez ($4,200) vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Baez has gotten hot as he is riding an eight-game hitting streak, including smashing a homer in three straight games. Over those eight games, the former Cub has recorded nine RBI while putting up double-digit fantasy points in the last six. Zach Davies has a low strikeout rate at 7.2 per nine which helps Baez with his swing-and-miss tendencies.

Austin Slater ($2,900) vs. Cincinnati Reds

At this price against a pitcher like Mike Minor, Slater is an easy choice as the Giants’ leadoff hitter. Minor is allowing 3.1 homers per nine and holds a 6.97 ERA and 7.33 FIP on the season. Slater recorded two hits last night including a homer and is averaging 7.2 fantasy points per game.

Other options: Ronald Acuña Jr. ($5,800), Mike Trout ($5,900), Luis Arraez ($5,300)

Stacks

Minnesota Twins vs. Antonio Senzatela
San Diego Padres vs. Zach Eflin

Good luck with all of your MLB DFS lineups.
