NBA Best Bets: October 21, 2021

With the season now fully rolling it requires little introduction into the NBA’s best bets piece. We started out 2-1 on NBA opening night before a 2-3 performance on night two of NBA action. A full-blown miss in one game, (Hornets vs Pacers) combined with a bad beat on Karl-Anthony Towns rebound total leave us wanting and needing more from a small, three-game slate Thursday night. It’s nothing we aren’t capable of, though. Here are October 21’s best bets from around the NBA.

Atlanta Hawks -2 (-110) vs Dallas Mavericks

This might catch people by surprise early in the 2021-22 season but the Hawks are simply a better team than the Mavericks. Forget the argument of Trae Young vs Luka Doncic. Talk about the next nine guys on each team and how they all fit together underneath the coaching staff. The Hawks are much further along when it comes to readiness for this regular season. Due to that they come out motivated and hit the Mavericks early. Don’t feel bad taking the Moneyline here instead of the points as this one may be a game that comes down to a late Young dagger.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 13.5 Rebounds (-115)

There aren’t many players who are going to outrebound Giannis on a per game basis this season. In fact, I’d confidently place a wager that he leads the league in this category this season. Facing off with the Heat is a great time to pound the over on his boards and take advantage of the undersized Heat that usually rebound by committee. Expect plenty of misses and opportunities off of those misses. If the Bucks are going to win Giannis will need to be all over the glass, especially considering what starting Bucks center brook Lopez lacks on the glass. The bucks win this one most likely but Giannis grabs 14 plus boards without a doubt.

NBA Playoffs 2024: Round 1 Awkward Moments

It must be weird facing your former team. It is, without a doubt, an awkward feeling when past teammates become your enemies. How would a player or coach deal with it? Does it add any more pressure? We can only guess, but we know that they will do anything to eliminate the team they used to play for.
