The Daily Dollar: Best NFL Bets for Week 3 (9/26)

NFL Bets Week 3

It’s time for a 100 percent NFL bets edition of the Daily Dollar. Two weeks of turmoil began the season as expected, but things are balancing out. Now is the time to board the train to prosperity with Week 3 upon us.

Gambling on early-season NFL is always a precarious venture. Now that few surprises have come to pass, the cream begins to rise to the top and handicappers adjust accordingly. With that said, there are always opportunities each week of the season where it looks like Vegas has a big swing and a miss on their lines. Those are the ones we’re after. Strap in, I’ve got three that I think have been overlooked in Week 3.

You can find the Daily Dollar throughout the NFL season here.

Green Bay Packers ML (+140) at San Francisco 49ers

The narrative of Kyle Shanahan having Aaron Rodgers’ number is one of the most absurd pieces of information being passed around like a bad game of “telephone”. In truth, the Packers’ defense has been mostly to blame, having given up an average of 33 points per game to the Niners since Shanahan took over. Guess what? The series still stands at 2-2.

In those games, Rodgers has 1,160 passing yards with nine touchdowns and two interceptions. That’s absolutely nothing to suggest that Shanahan somehow has the key to beating him. The 49ers still may have a decent defense, but the loss of Jason Verrett and giving up 33 points to a less-than-stellar Detroit squad don’t leave much room for optimism against Green Bay.

Rodgers comes in on the strength of a game where he had an 81.5 completion percentage with 255 yards and four touchdowns. San Francisco is completely hobbled on offense. Let’s not forget that since drafting Alex Smith, every 49ers contest is a revenge game for Rodgers. Skip the spread, take the extra money. It’s free.

Book it: Green Bay Packers Win (+140)

Las Vegas Raiders -3.5 (-110) vs. Miami Dolphins

The Raiders systematically defeated two AFC North teams in the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers, while the Dolphins are coming off an embarrassing loss to the division-rival Bills, 35-0. In our weekly expert picks article, I called this a three-point game. With each passing day, I think I was giving the Tua Tagovailoa-less Dolphins far too much credit.

Las Vegas is banged-up this season, but they’ve beaten two better teams than Miami, each with a better quarterback than Jacoby Brissett, who will be under center for the visitors today. At the end of the day, the Raiders may only need the David Carr to Darren Waller connection to dominate this one, and I expect them to. Lay the points with confidence.

Book it: Raiders -3.5 points (-110)

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs o54.5 (-110)

Let me get this straight. The Chiefs come off a one-point heartbreaking loss to the Ravens. The Chargers put up 17 points against a weak Dallas defense and after two weeks the offense is being questioned. Neither team runs the ball well, but both can score on a single play at any given point. And the total is nearly six points below 60? Child, please.

Both teams will come out guns blazing and whichever scores first is forcing the opposition to play “anything you can do, I can do better”. Kansas City’s Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce have combined for 396 yards and four touchdowns. Keenan Allen and Mike Williams have 381 yards and two for LA. The box score from this one should read like a video game in regulation, and you better believe there’s a chance it goes to overtime. That means free points. You probably won’t need them anyway. Grab your popcorn and enjoy the show.

Book it: Los Angeles/Kansas City over 54.5 points scored

Best of luck today, boys and girls. With each passing week, things get a little closer to normal and that’s a good thing for bettors who got hit hard in the early going. Strap in and get ready for a fun ride. Let’s pad our wallets and make some extra cash and let it snowball from there.

Gates Top NFL Team From Week 11 (2024)

Week 11 in the NFL brought more chaos, with at least five games on Sunday being decided by a single score. Notably, the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts won their games by just one point. As a result of their performance, the Buffalo Bills have earned the title of our NFL Team of the Week for the second time this season, having previously received this honor in Week 8.
