Welcome back to a special edition of Corrigan’s Gambling Corner. Tonight marks the official start of the NBA Finals between the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns. Let’s look at some of the best bets from Game 1 and start these Finals off strong.

Best Spread: Suns -6
Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as doubtful for Tuesday’s game. Further, the Suns are a much more rested and healthier team. It might be wise to wait until closer to game time as the line will probably fall back into our favor. However, if that line falls below -5, take a good look at the first-half spread for the Suns, which is currently at -3.
The Suns are currently 10-3 ATS in their last 13 and are in the top-10 for both offensive and defensive efficiency. Five days of rest coupled with Antetokounmpo’s injury could bode well for the Suns, who should be able to wear this team out with their depth and take Game 1 pretty easily.
Best Point Spread: U/218.5
Simply put, the Bucks are going to have to rely on Khris Middleton and Aaron Holiday to provide the scoring tonight. While they have been able to do that throughout these playoffs, I do not trust them to do it against the best defensive team they will see in the postseason. Without Antetokounmpo, the Bucks are just a roster of role players.
It will also be interesting to see if Brook Lopez can remain that much-needed spark the Bucks are desperate for. However, Deandre Ayton is a much tougher task. Not only will Lopez have a hard time guarding him down low, but it’s hard to see envision him having consistent offensive production.
At the end of the day, Ayton, Devin Booker, and Chris Paul can do enough to beat the spread. Lopez, Middleton, and Holiday will struggle to keep up the pace. Look for this game to be a blowout with the Bucks not scoring enough to push this one over.
NBA Finals MVP Future: Deandre Ayton (+2500)
This may be the best value if you think the Suns are going to win. While the honors will probably go to Paul for narrative purposes, Ayton should feast in this series. With no real size to stop him, the Bucks are going to have no chance at slowing him down. This pick is all about value and at +2500, we can make some serious cash if Ayton steps up.
