Another losing season for the New York Giants was only a motive for Brian Daboll to turn things around. To kick things off, the 2022 NFL Draft was a booming success for New York as they splurged on Kayvon Thibodeaux and Evan Neal. In regards to the offseason, Joe Schoen stayed quiet in just a few minor free agency moves. Ricky Seals-Jones and Tyrod Taylor headline the low-key free agency as Schoen’s directive was towards the draft. Nonetheless, Giants fans are eager for a winning season and Daboll has a lofty task to carry out. Here are a few bold predictions for the upcoming season.

Daniel Jones has a Breakout Season

The Giants did not pick up the fifth-year option for Jones. The former Duke Blue Devil has not been the prodigy many expected. Proven to be a mediocre quarterback at best and is due for a breakout season. With Daboll as the new head coach, Jones will have a clean slate to begin the season. First and foremost, the offensive line has vastly improved over the offseason which will grant Jones a few more seconds in the pocket. On another note, we have seen Jones succeed in many scenarios yet he has plenty of room for improvement. Although, if Jones fails to please the coaching staff, there is a big chance that the organization will move on from Danny Dimes.

Saquon Barkley Rushes for 1,200 Yards

Barkley has been a liability out of the backfield for the past couple of seasons. He has dealt with several injuries and never seemed to find his groove. Footing just 627 rushing yards in the last two seasons, it’s fair to say that Barkley has not been his old self. Although, everyone knows what Barkley is capable of. His rookie season was quite the showcase as he whipped up 1,300 yards on the ground. If the youngster can stay off the injured list, it won’t be a long shot for the Penn State sensation to rush for 1,200 yards.

The Giants Finish with a Winning Record

The coaching staff has been revamped and the Giants are stoked for the new season. While many issues must be addressed and the roster has its defects, Daboll is hoping to turn the tables. With a promising draft class and a handful of steals in the offseason, Schoen has already made an impact in the Giants organization. Additionally, the schedule isn’t looking too bad as the Giants will face several scuffling teams. From the division-rivaled Washington Commanders to the Detroit Lions, the Giants have a fair chance to hit over the .500 mark.

The Offensive Line will be Elite

The offensive line has been a disaster in recent years. However, this year proves different as the offensive line has a whole new outlook. The additions of Neal and former Indianapolis Colt Mark Glowinski are major upgrades. Alongside Andrew Thomas, Jon Feliciano, and Joshua Ezeudu, the offensive line seems to be an upside for Mike Kafka‘s offense. If health does interfere, the front five will only better Jones’s chances to thrive in the pocket.
