The AFC South is a chaotic division year after year, with each team having its own hot streak. This past year, we’ve seen two superstars depart the division in DeAndre Hopkins and Jalen Ramsey, both adding to the mystery of who will win the division next. Each team has its own question that they must answer, in order to find success. Overall, this division is unpredictable year to year, and with the 2020 schedule set, there will be some interesting games to watch. With that said, this is an eight-part series where our Scorecrow NFL analysts do an early prediction of the wins and losses of each team. We projected all 256 games and have the winners and losers of each division!

Last season was an absolute disaster and Dan Snyder finally sent Bruce Allen packing. After firing Allen, Snyder told the entire interim coaching staff and some front office members to follow him out the door. During the coaching search, Allen had one guy in mind. A coach with great character and vision with ambitious. That coach was Ron Rivera, who takes pride in coaching discipline football. I would expect the Redskins to improve in 2020.

The NFC West is one of the most difficult divisions to predict. Last year, the fast rise of the 49ers took the league by storm, whereas in 2018 the Rams were able to maintain their dominant streak. The NFC East arguably has some of the most passionate fans in the NFL. It also has some of the weirdest divisional games, which are always unpredictable. The four teams each have a young quarterback of which makes every game exciting. While the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles have each won the division twice in the past four years, the Giants and Redskins are starting to accumulate talent. The Bears did not hit very many bold predictions in 2019. David Montgomery didn’t rush for 1000 yards, Mitchell Trubisky didn’t take a step forward, and the defense regressed. They won four fewer games than they did in 2018. With that being said I expect that to change this season. Below are some bold predictions for the Bears 2020 season. Yes call me crazy but I see them as contenders to win the Super Bowl come February.

Is this the beginning of a new dynasty? With the Super Bowl winning Kansas City Chiefs, not losing any pieces, it will be difficult for the Broncos, Raiders, and Chargers to compete with them. However, the Broncos, Raiders, and Chargers, each made strides to improve their offenses. This division has the potential for some close and meaningful games to determine who makes the playoffs.
