Zach Larsen is an offensive lineman at Southern Utah University. The 6-foot-1, 300-pound senior appeared in 33 games over his first three years of college. Larsen spoke with Fan Source Network regarding his final collegiate season and the road that soon awaits him in the NFL.

Fan Source Network: What is your top goal for the 2019 season?

Zach Larsen: As a team, I want to be Big Sky champions. We have put in a lot of work and we are ready to go get that championship. For me, I also want to be named a first-team All-American.

FS: What passion or hobby do you have that people don’t know about you?

ZL: Growing up my family always went to Arches National Park every year and we loved going on all the hikes. I love going on a good hike.

FS: Looking back at your senior year of high school and freshman year of college, what would you change about how you played, prepared, or acted?

ZL: I felt like I worked pretty hard, but one thing that I have really developed over the years is a “do more” mentality. You have to constantly be asking yourself if you are doing everything you can to be the best you. You have to do more every day. Everybody goes to weights with their team, but what are you doing to set yourself above the rest is crucial.

FS: Is there a specific professional athlete you model your playing style after or look up to, and why?

ZL: There are a couple centers that I really like to watch and learn from. One is my brother, Tyler Larsen, with the Panthers. He has taught me a lot and I love to learn from him. I also really like watching and learning from Alex Mack of the Falcons, Jason Kelce of the Eagles, and Travis Frederick of the Cowboys. I feel like all three of these centers really exemplify what a good center is. They are all very physical in the game and that is what I like to pride myself on. I want to be one of the most physical guys out there.

FS: Who is your go-to team and player on Madden?

ZL: Honestly, I don’t play video games, so I couldn’t tell you. If I did, it would have to be the Cowboys. I have always been a Cowboys fan.

FS: What would your top trait be on Madden? (What is your best skill?)

ZL: Strength.

FS: Who is one person you want to meet?

ZL: Jon Gordon. I love the books he writes. He is an amazing motivational speaker and the positive energy that he has is amazing. Positive energy is a very important key to this life, and Jon Gordon is the master at this.

FS: Who is one NFL player you’d love to line up against?

ZL: Aaron Donald, for sure. He is the best D-lineman out there and to be the best you have to play against the best.

FS: What do your pregame habits consist of? Do you have any superstitions?

ZL: I’m not a very superstitious guy, but before every game, I make sure to listen to my pregame playlist. I also make sure that I take time to visualize myself in the game getting them pancakes.

FS: Why should an NFL team draft you?

ZL: You will never have any off the field issues. I take care of my business and you won’t have to worry about me. I always strive for excellence. I do not get satisfied with where I am at, I am always looking to grow and get better. When you are green you grow, when you are ripe you rot. I am always looking to improve and get better with what I do. I also look to hold those around me accountable. Peer-to-peer leadership is very important and I look to make sure those around me are headed in the right direction. I am not afraid to get somebody right. Teams need players that make other players around them better, not bring them down.

FS: In one sentence, tell me what people will say about you when your career concludes.

ZL: This guy was a beast.
