I’m back with another edition of XFL DFS. I’ll once again be focusing on DraftKing’s four-game slate. This should be a good week of football with some interesting matchups. Good luck this week and here are my top players.
Quarterback
Landry Jones ($9,800)
Jones has had back to back good weeks. He scored 20 points last week and 18.5 the week before. This week he will have to be even better as the Dallas Renegades face off against the high powered Houston Roughnecks. Houston is the worst passing defense in terms of yards given up. This will be a high scoring game and I expect Jones to do all the heavy lifting on offense with the passing attack.
Running Back
De’Veon Smith ($6,100)
Like I said last week running back has been the toughest position for me to pick. Smith doesn’t have a touchdown on the year but I like his volume of work. He gets double-digit touches every week. He averages 4.1 yards per carry. The Tampa Bay Vipers are committed to running the football and I expect them to do just that against the DC Defenders.
Wide Receivers/ Utility
Jordan Smallwood ($6,700)
The Los Angeles Wildcats number one target Nelson Spruce is out for this weekend’s game. Smallwood is going to have to step up and help fill his role. He is 6’2” so he has the height to go up and snag a touchdown. He faces the New York Guardians who give up an average of 212.3 passing yards. Look for Smallwood to provide good value on this slate and get 15-20 points.
Rashad Ross ($8,700)
The DC Defenders looked terrible last week. Cardale Jones threw four interceptions and Ross only had one reception for 17 yards. They will be looking to bounce back this week. Ross has seen his salary dropped nearly $2,000 since week one. I expect him to have a bounce-back week and I love getting him at this salary which is the lowest he has cost all year. He is one of the more boom or bust receivers but I like his odds to boom this weekend.
Flynn Nagel ($4,800)
Nagel is my sleeper pick of the week. He comes in at just $4,800. Pair Nagel with Jones in the game I expect to be the highest-scoring of the week. He saw six targets and caught five of them for 39 yards and one touchdown last week. He will likely see similar targets and could even see an uptick in targets if Donald Parham is limited.
Defense
DC Defenders ($4,700)
The Defenders defense will definitely have a better week this week. Their offense did not help them out very much with Cardale throwing four interceptions. They also are facing Taylor Cornelius who has thrown three interceptions in two games this year. Look for them to bounce back and get back into the touchdown category this week.
Good luck with your lineups! Hopefully, they all hit. Make sure to check out my top players next week! Have a good weekend and go win that money!
