The XFL is entering its halfway mark of the season. Week Five is here and we are starting to get more trends and statistics on the teams and players. I’ll once again be providing my top players on DraftKings four-game slate. Good luck and here are my top players for this weekend’s games.

Quarterback

Josh Johnson (10,500 DK)

Johnson has been one of the top quarterbacks in the league since his week two return. He averages 23.1 fantasy points. He has seven touchdowns in three games. Even in a tough matchup, the Veteran quarterback will be worth paying up for on this slate.

Running Back

Christine Michael (5,200 DK)

Even if Matt Jones is able to suit up Michael will still be a solid play. He has seen double-digit carries in the last three games even with Jones getting double-digit as well. The Defenders have been one of the worst teams against running backs this year. They give up an average of 122.5 rushing yards per game. That will give Michael a great chance to feast all game. The BattleHawks will likely run the football with Michael and Jones and then let Jordan Ta’amu play off of that.

Wide Receivers

Austin Proehl (8,000 DK)

Proehl has been tough to pick this year. He has two weeks with over 80 receiving yards and at least one touchdown. The other two weeks he has two total receptions for zero yards. However, he gets a good matchup this week against the Houston Roughnecks. They struggle against receivers in the slot. Last week my sleeper pick was Flynn Nagel who was up against the Roughnecks. He had his best week of the season and I expect Proehl to have similar success.

Jordan Smallwood (6,200 DK)

With Nelson Spruce out last week Smallwood and Johnson connected for five receptions for 75 yards. Spruce will be out again this week and that makes Smallwood WR2 again. I love the Johnson and Smallwood stack this week as they look to keep building there chemistry.

Saeed Blacknall (3,600 DK)

Blacknall is another Wildcats player that I love this week. He is a good deep threat for Johnson. Last week they connected for a 42-yard touchdown in there first game together. He is definitely a dart throw but he will really help free up salary to get the top players on this slate. I love his big-play ability and expect him to make some more big plays this week.

Cam Phillips (11,500 DK)

Phillips is definitely due for a bounce-back game. He had seven touchdowns in the first three weeks. Uncharacteristically he had only one reception last week. Phillips has been a stud and one bad game is not enough to make me avoid him this week. If we are lucky then last week’s performance will let Phillips ownership drop a little.

Defense

St Louis BattleHawks (4,700 DK)

The BattleHawks face the DC Defenders this weekend. The Defenders will either be playing Cardale Jones or Tyree Jackson at quarterback. Jones has thrown five interceptions in his last two games. The BattleHawks have three interceptions and eight sacks on the year. If they can get pressure, no matter which quarterback plays, they should force some turnovers and rack up some points.
