The 2019-2020 UEFA Champions League is down to four clubs. The four remaining clubs are Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, and Olympique Lyonnais. Out of those four, Bayern Munich is the only club that has won the tournament before.
The knockout stage has been full of surprises thus far. Olympique Lyonnais is perhaps the most surprising team out of the final four. They’ve eliminated both Juventus and Manchester City. After defying insurmountable odds against their last two opponents, Olympique Lyonnais now faces yet another major as they face Bayern Munich. Lyon is an underdog, but they’ve proven to be fearless.
Last summer, Lyon sold key players Nabil Fekir, Ferland Mendy and Tanguy Ndombele.

What Are Lyon’s Chances Against Bayern Munich?
Bayern Munich is a very good team. They beat Barcelona 8-2 in the quarterfinals. In the Round of 16, they eliminated Chelsea 7-1 on aggregate. The club’s ability to inflict serious damage has allowed them to gain a reputation of wreaking havoc on the pitch. In other words, Bayern Munich is a tough and dangerous club.
It’s quite clear that Lyon will certainly have their hands full against Bayern Munich. Lyon’s chances are quite slim. Even though they pulled off miraculous upsets against Juventus and Manchester City, Bayern Munich is has proven to be a more dangerous club and may very well be Lyon’s biggest challenge of the knockout stage. Due to Lyon’s success so far, they seem to thrive on big challenges. In other words, the bigger the challenge, the better.
However, as dangerous and tough Bayern Munich is, Lyon has proved to not only be fearless, but resilient, as well. Lyon’s bravery and resiliency will be put to the ultimate test on Wednesday. Even Bayern Munich must understand that underestimating Lyon can be a huge and costly mistake.
Lyon knows that the odds are not in their favor. At this point, Lyon being the underdog seems to give them a bit of an edge.
