Wow, what a weekend of college football action. Our own Patrick Weider was glued in all day long and watched 12 hours of football.
Here are Weider’s top 25 teams after Week 6 of the college football season based on wins/losses, schedule, and overall performance.
1) Texas (5-0)
Texas has played well this season. They have looked the part as the best team in the country, but their season gets harder starting this week when they play against rival Oklahoma in the Red River Shootout.
2) Ohio State (5-0)
Ohio State has looked good starting 5-0 on the year, but their schedule has been very light. They will finally be tested against Oregon this week.
3) Oregon (5-0)
Oregon has also played a light schedule and hosts Ohio State this weekend. Whoever loses that game will fall in the rankings, but they probably won’t slip outside of the top 10.
4) Miami (6-0)
Miami has played two crazy games in a row and came out with victories in both. They are the favorite to win the ACC.

5) Penn State (5-0)
Penn State’s defense looks legit, and offensively, they have run the ball well. They get a big one this week at USC.
6) Alabama (4-1)
A week after winning against Georgia, Alabama was upset by Vanderbilt. That caused them to fall from the top spot.
7) Georgia (4-1)
A week after losing to Alabama, Georgia rebounded to beat Auburn. They still have a good chance to win the SEC.
8) Tennessee (4-1)
Tennessee fell to Arkansas on Saturday in a hard-fought loss. They are still very much in the SEC race.
9) Ole Miss (5-1)
A week after being upset by Kentucky, Ole Miss went into South Carolina and took care of business.

10) Iowa State (5-0)
I doubt that Iowa State will finish the season undefeated, but through five weeks, they have won every game and looked good doing it.
11) Clemson (4-1)
Clemson has been on fire, winning four straight after a sluggish blowout loss to Georgia.
12) Notre Dame (4-1)
Losing to North Illinois will sting, but they have a chance to win out and make the college football playoffs.
13) LSU (4-1)
LSU plays Ole Miss this week. If the Tigers win, they can make a playoff run.
14) Texas A&M (5-1)
Texas A&M got the big win this week when they thumped Missouri.

15) BYU (5-0)
BYU is the surprise team in the Big 12. Can they keep winning games within the conference?
16) Utah (4-1)
Utah lost two weeks ago at home against Arizona but is still in the mix to win the Big 12.
17) Indiana (6-0)
Yes, Indiana is 6-0 on the year. They have a chance to win 10 games this year, which would be amazing for the program.
18) Boise State (4-1)
Boise State looks like it has a good chance of winning the Mountain West. Their only loss is to Oregon.

20) Pittsburgh (5-0)
Pittsburgh has played well so far this year, starting 5-0.
21) Missouri (4-1)
Missouri got blown off the field by Texas A&M this past week and tumbled down the rankings.
22) Oklahoma (4-1)
Oklahoma has a big one on the docket when they play Texas this week. They are heavy underdogs.
23) SMU (5-1)
SMU has had a successful start to the season and could play in the ACC Championship game.
24) Navy (5-0)
Yes, Navy is 5-0 and playing well.
25) Army (5-0)
How cool is it that Army and Navy are both 5-0?
