Week 9 Fantasy Streamers

Chad Davis | October 29th, 2019

Welcome to the Week 9 Fantasy Streamers! The Saints and Falcons are on bye this week, so here are some options you can use to replace at quarterback, tight end, defense/special teams, and kicker.

The rostered percentages I present in this are pulled from ESPN Fantasy.

QB – Gardner Minshew 49% Rostered

Minshew continues to put up great numbers on the season and has scored over 20 fantasy points in three out of the last four weeks. He faces a Watt-less Texans defense next, who just got torched by Derek Carr.

QB – Derek Carr 18% Rostered

Even though Carr has a low floor, he has thrown for almost 300 passing yards in the past 2 games and totaled 5 touchdowns. He should continue the hot streak against the Lions who just allowed Daniel Jones to throw for four touchdowns, accruing 28 fantasy points.

QB – Ryan Tannehill – 6% Rostered

Since (rightfully) taking over the starting role, the Titans are 2-0 behind Tannehill’s very serviceable play. He scored 19 fantasy points in both starts with a 5:1 TD:INT ratio. He’ll look to feast next meeting against the Panthers, who just allowed 51 points to the 49ers.

TE – Darren Fells – 12.5% Rostered

Fells has been dominant in red-zone targets as he enjoyed another two-touchdown day. The chances to score are always there, even as a hit or miss option. He also continues to lead Jordan Akins in snaps and targets.

TE – Jonnu Smith 0.5% Rostered

Smith caught six of seven targets last week while Delanie Walker was sidelined. As long as Walker remains out, Smith could provide Tannehill with another option in a weak receiving corps. Take a flier, especially with limited TE options.

D/ST – Philadelphia Eagles 42.9% Rostered

The Eagles defense should only be relied on depending on the matchup and that is the case this week. The Bears offense has been nothing but atrocious, including getting booed by their own fans. Trubisky just isn’t the guy and as long as he’s playing, I feel comfortable starting the opposing defense.

D/ST – Green Bay Packers – 38.8% Rostered

The Packers are going up against a putrid Chargers team who have failed to rush for more than 40 yards in each of the last two weeks. If there is anything that’s guaranteed, it’s that the Chargers will absolutely turn the ball over. The Packers should also get plenty of sack opportunities against that porous offensive line.

D/ST – Denver Broncos – 22.9% Rostered

I still like this unit even though they haven’t been great this year. Baker Mayfield has totaled 13 turnovers this season and the Broncos should get their share this week, especially at home. Poor coaching, putting it nicely, as well as lack of discipline,  affirms this play.

K – Matt Gay – 31.2% Rostered

Gay averages 9 fantasy points per game and sees plenty of opportunities considering every Buccaneers game tends to turn into a shootout. They shouldn’t have any trouble moving the ball against Seattle, especially with the Evans and Godwin duo.
