Week 7 IDP Report

Leonard Williams

Apologies for missing the past couple of weeks as I had personal/family matters to attend to, but alas I am back with the IDP Report for Week 7! The season is close to the halfway point and hopefully, you’re in contention for playoffs which will soon be upon us. With the time loss, let us get to the point!

Defensive Linemen

Leonard Williams at Philadelphia Eagles

Williams is coming off a nice Week 6 performance of five tackles, two solo, and a sack. He played the most snaps of all season and has a chance for a nice production day this week. The Eagles have given up the most points to defensive ends for the season and have all sorts of struggles with their offensive line. You should like him for a good play this week if needing help at the position.

Emmanuel Ogbah Bye Week

Normally do not bother with guys on a bye week, but seeing the amount of percentage Ogbah is owned, go get him now. He has crept up to starting status in the past three weeks. Ogbah has 19 tackles, five sacks, and a forced fumble on the season and is 0.5 sacks away from his career-best. He racked up three solo tackles, two assisted, two sacks, two tackles for loss, and two QB hits in Week 6. Also, the previous week’s performances are noteworthy enough to make sure with him on a bye week he can be picked up for cheap. Go out and get him and then ride him, he may be on for a career year or try to sell before the wheels fall off.

Linebackers

Robert Spillane at Tennessee Titans

Spillane assumed the starting role when the injury bug snagged Devin Bush for the year with an ACL tear. He totaled six tackles in the second half when he replaced Bush and should be the starter for the remainder of the season if he performs enough to maintain the role. Expectations are low for the three-year undrafted free agent. But he is on probably one of the league’s best defensive cores, especially at linebacker. Spillane has a chance to produce some IDP production.

Ja’Whaun Bentley vs. San Francisco 49ers

Bentley exploded in Week 6 with eight solos tackles, four assisted, 0.5 sacks, two tackles for loss, and two QB hits. He played 95 percent of the snaps for the week and has played 80 percent or more of the snaps each week so far on the season. This week he gets a 49ers offense surrendering the second-most fantasy points to the linebacker position. With the snap count being as high as it is and with bye weeks coming into the fold, make sure to snag him now before he goes off and he is an IDP asset towards playoffs.

Defensive Backs

Josh Jones at Los Angeles Chargers

Jones racked up eight solo tackles and one assist in Week 6 and should be added everywhere. His owned percentage is too low and with another DB1 performance this past week, it is time to look his way. He gets a matchup against a young quarterback, but a team that is prone to make mistakes.

Adrian Phillips vs. San Francisco 49ers

Phillips after the unexpected bye had five solo tackles, six assisted, and two tackles for loss in Week 6. He is a solid DB3 option during a week where four teams will be resting at home. Phillips hit over the 75 percent snap mark for the third time in four games. Week 7 provides him a great matchup. Phillips is up against a 49ers offense relinquishing the 10th most fantasy points to the safety position. If you need someone to fill a spot in a deep league or a player on a bye, Phillips is a nice addition.

Week 11 in the NFL brought more chaos, with at least five games on Sunday being decided by a single score. Notably, the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts won their games by just one point.
