In a game that every expert expected the San Franciso 49ers to run away with, the Miami Dolphins were the ones who pulled away. This game was expected to be a get back in shape kind of game for the Niners, but it ended up being an aerial assault by the Dolphins that conquered the day. Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was able to consistently pick apart the Niners weakened defense with his experienced arm.

The San Francisco 49ers

What can you say about this game besides from “wow, this was extremely disappointing.” The Niners had an opportunity to get to 3-2 and get back on the winning foot, but they threw their chance away by delivering the disappointment of the year. They allowed Fitzpatrick to pick them apart for 350 passing yards and three touchdowns. On the ground, the Dolphins sprung for 94 yards and a Myles Gaskin touchdown. On the positive side for the Niners, they rushed for 131 yards and a Kyle Juszczyk touchdown. Back to the negative, Jimmy Garoppolo was benched after the first half for C.J. Beathard. This was an all-around horrible game for the Niners

The Dolphins on the other hand had an absolute field day. They had all the stats mentioned above and more. Preston Williams and Mike Gesicki each had over 90 receiving yards. Williams, DeVante Parker, and Adam Shaheen each pulled in a Fitzpatrick touchdown each. On defense, Miami sacked 49er quarterbacks five times, while Xavien Howard and Bobby McCain both gathered a first-half interception off of Garoppolo. Miami played absolutely out of their minds all day long, which doomed the Niners from the start. Kicker Jason Sanders kept his perfect season going by going 9-9 on kicks. On a side note, Fitzpatrick hit the 3,000 career pass completion milestone today, he is the 27th quarterback in NFL history to achieve such a milestone.

Next for the Niners, they face the Los Angeles Rams who are 4-1. This game will most likely be a loss the way the season is going for the Niners. Next up for the Dolphins, are the New York Jets. This game will most likely be a win for the Dolphins, due to the Jets being a horrible team this season.
